Overview

The Engineering Department is responsible for plan review and permitting of site plans related to private land development projects.  Land development includes residential subdivisions, office/retail, warehouse, and industrial complexes.  The Engineering Department is primarily responsible for reviewing and inspecting all new street/sidewalk construction, stormwater management plans, and survey plats for new development.

Engineering Plan Review staff serve on the Technical Review Committee (TRC) that is responsible for reviewing/approving all land development projects in the Town of Garner.  Engineering staff's primary focus in the TRC is to ensure design compliance of all public streets/sidewalks and stormwater infrastructure to be installed in conjunction with new development.

New submittals are coordinated through the Town's Planning Department.  Following subdivision/site plan approval, construction drawings (if required) are submitted directly to the Engineering Department for review/approval. Engineering will distribute the construction drawings to Raleigh Water for review.
