The Town of Garner has engaged Rebuilding Together of the Triangle, Inc. (RTT) to operate the Town's new Housing Preservation Assistance Program. The purpose of this program is to preserve affordable homeownership and support our Garner neighbors through home repairs, accessibility modifications and home performance upgrades. These improvements are funded by the Town annually and delivered by RTT.

Resources for Seniors provides home and community-based services so that disabled and senior adults can maximize their independence for as long as possible while remaining in their homes. Resources for Seniors partners with the Town of Garner and has an office in the Garner Senior Center.

Home Modification and Repair Services

The Housing and Home Improvement department at Resources for Seniors assists with health and safety modifications or repairs at your home, such as adding a wheelchair ramp or grab bars or fixing minor plumbing leaks, heating unit repairs, and roof leaks.

Weatherization Assistance

The Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP) uses federal funds to provide energy-saving improvements on homes of low-income Wake County residents (no age limit).  Weatherization makes your home more energy efficient. Your home may need weatherization services if:

The North Carolina Housing Finance Agency provides financing to local government and nonprofit partners to help elderly, special needs, and low income homeowners with urgent repairs, comprehensive rehabilitation or accessibility modifications to their homes.  Emergency repairs can correct housing conditions that threaten your life or safety, and accessibility modifications can help you to remain in your home after an injury or serious illness. The local organizations determine if you qualify and, if so, contract for and supervise the work.

Wake County GIS and Raleigh GIS developed the iMAPS online interactive mapping application to provide easy access to reliable property information. Raleigh Water provides water and sanitary sewer services to a service area population of approximately 630,000 residents in Raleigh, Garner, Wake Forest, Rolesville, Knightdale, Wendell and Zebulon areas.  As part of a merger community, Garner homeowners make water and sewer utility payments directly to the City of Raleigh, not the Town of Garner.

The Utility Customer Assistance Program (UCAP) was established by the City of Raleigh to help economically distressed water and sewer utility customers manage their utility bills.  UCAP is administered in partnership with the Wake County Human Services Department, which provides eligibility screening services for the program.
