Memorial Day Observance and Holiday Facilities and Services Schedules
We wanted to remind residents that the Town's annual Memorial Day Observance will be held Monday 9:30 a.m. at Lake Benson Park near the Garner Veterans Memorial. Tim Stevens will be the keynote speaker.
Town Hall and other indoor Town facilities will be closed Monday for the holiday, and there will be no solid-waste collection on that day. Garner residents on Monday routes will receive service on Tuesday; everyone else should put their waste at the curb on their regular days and crews will work to catch up as quickly as possible.
The Garner Recreation Center will be closed May 27-May 29 (Saturday-Monday) for floor maintenance and for the holiday.
The Lake Benson Boathouse will be open this weekend including Memorial Day. Memorial Day hours will be 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Veterans, active-duty and retired military personnel, and first responders will receive a 50 percent discount on the daily rental rate on Memorial Day.
