Project Scope: This project includes adding parking, street and sidewalk improvements in Downtown Garner. The improvements consist of street and sidewalk improvements along the west side of Pearl Street from the Garner Baseball Complex frontage to Main St and improvements along Parker Street from the eastern boundary of new townhomes to N Montague Street. Along with development, these connections help complete the road and pedestrian network in the area. Pearl Street Townhomes, a private development, will improve the east side of Pearl Street and remaining section of Parker Street. A total of 20 on-street parking spots will be added. 

Main Steet Parking improvements consist of adding angled parking Main St from N Montague Street to Purvis St. A total of 40 angled parking spots will be added. 

Funding Source: 2021 Street and Sidewalk Improvement Bonds

Current Status (updated October 2024): Preconstruction Coordination is underway. This plan is currently in review with NC Railroad (NCRR); after that approval is obtained, an agreement and right-of-entry will be pursued.
