How to Participate

1. Take the pledge. Sign our Greener Garner Pledge online and pledge to make green changes! The first 50 people to sign the pledge will receive a thank you tote bag. The tote bag includes litter pick-up supplies as well as volunteer gifts.

2. Go out and pick up litter! Pick up trash anywhere in Garner, like in your neighborhood or local parks.

3. Contribute to science! While you’re picking up trash, you’re also collecting valuable data without realizing it. Track and submit your data (what kind of and how much trash you find) to the Marine Debris Tracker app to help researchers understand the bigger picture of the plastic pollution crisis.  Your data will also track litter pollution patterns throughout Garner and help us determine how to prevent accumulation of litter. 4. (Bonus) Share your success and enter to win a t-shirt. Take pictures to share with us on social media and show us that you submitted data to Marine Debris Tracker to be entered into a giveaway to win a White Deer Park t-shirt.
