Town Seeking Citizens for Board, Committee Vacancies

The Town of Garner appoints citizens to serve on a number of advisory boards and commissions. Citizens who serve on these boards and commissions perform a community service using their skills, interests and initiatives to make a difference. Whether you’re interested in community appearance, recreation activities or land use practices, the Town of Garner has opportunities for you to volunteer to share your time and talents.

Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources Advisory Committee: This committee provides recommendations to the Town Council with regard to recreation services, facilities and fee policies. This committee meets every third Monday at 6 p.m. at Town Hall.

Board of Adjustment: Applications are being accepted for an appointment to the Board of Adjustment for one regular position for citizens that reside within Garner Town limits AND for one regular position for citizens that reside within Wake County limits. The board meets the fourth Thursday of each month at 7 p.m. to hear and decide appeals from any order, decision, requirement or interpretation made by the land-use administrator or other administrative officials in the carrying out or enforcing any provisions of the Unified Development Ordinance and to hear and decide applications for special use permits, special exceptions and variances.
