Town of Garner Notice of Public Hearing The Garner Town Council has called a public hearing at 7:00 P.M. on Monday, June 2, 2014 in the Town Council Meeting Room located in Building B at Town Hall. The purpose of this hearing is to receive public comments and input about amendments to Section 3 of the Garner Town Code related to Animals and Fowl. The amendment specifically addresses allowing backyard hens on smaller urban lots within the Town limits subject to certain regulations. The Town of Garner wishes to inform you that a request has been made to the Garner Town Council by CLH Design to rezone 57.73 acres, located at 8228 Hebron Church Road, from Wake County Residential-30 (R-30) to Garner Residential-9 (R-9). The site is currently within the Wake County Water Supply Watershed Overlay (WSO-3NC) district. As part of this rezoning, the site will change from being within the county's overlay to Garner's Swift Creek Overlay district. Both of these overlays provide regulations to protect water quality in the Swift Creek watershed by requiring limits on the amount of impervious surface areas permissible for new residential and non-residential development.

In addition to the rezoning petition, CLH Design has filed a conditional use site plan application to develop the property into a new High School. The site can be further identified as Wake County PIN 1629436444 & 1629531368.

UDO-13-02, Text Amendment – Core Properties is requesting the Town of Garner to consider an amendment to the sign regulations that apply to development at the northeast quadrant of US 70 and Jones Sausage Road.
