Garner Police Investigate Multiple Vehicle Break-Ins
Thirty-two unlocked vehicles entered over the weekend
Garner Police are investigating a string of vehicle break-ins that occurred over the weekend. Unknown suspect(s) entered thirty-two unlocked vehicles in the Garner area between Saturday night (7/30) and Monday morning (8/1). The suspect(s) appeared to be looking for small electronics, cash, or change. Victim’s reported money, cellphones, credit cards, wallets, and other small miscellaneous items stolen out of their unlocked vehicles.
“The suspect(s) targeted vehicles that were left unlocked overnight,” said Lt. Lorie Smith. Lt. Smith supervises the Department’s Criminal Investigative Division. “The suspect(s) appeared to bypass locked vehicles, and instead targeted vehicles with unlocked doors or with valuables left in plain sight”.
The Garner Police Department is offering a reward of $500.00 for any information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for these crimes. Citizens are encouraged to call 911 to report suspicious persons and/or suspicious activity. Please remember to remove or secure all valuables and lock all doors when leaving your vehicle unattended.
